Story

A voice between two homes.

Kachi Kevin leading worship at True Worship 5.0 in Hull, eyes closed, with the worship team in teal shirts singing around him
Every song is a new beginning.

Kachi Kevin, born Emmanuel Kevin Onyedikachi, is an Afro-Gospel recording artist, singer-songwriter, composer and music director whose work moves between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His sound sits where contemporary gospel meets African rhythm, and his songs are written across three languages: English, Nigerian Pidgin and Yoruba.

He trained at Tenstrings Music Institute in Nigeria, completing a Diploma in Music Performance in 2019, and began performing on Lagos stages, including the Easter Sunday Musical Concert and the “A Night with the King” Music Festival in 2022. That same year he co-wrote Oreofe (Grace) for recording artist Tomi Folayan, released through AMP Records, and was featured by The Sun as an emerging voice.

As lead songwriter and vocalist he has released the singles Journey (2023) and Surrender (2024), followed by the four-track EP A New Beginning in June 2026. Journey and A New Beginning have both received critical reviews, in The Guardian and Vanguard respectively.

Now based in Hull, where he also completed an MSc at the University of Hull, Kachi has become a familiar voice in the UK gospel scene: lead vocalist at the Tehillah Live Recording and Worship Beyond Borders, featured performer at True Worship 4.0 and 5.0, where he premiered his original composition “He Heard My Cry”, and lead vocalist at The Awakening Live Concert. In 2026 he served as music director and arranger for a live studio session in Hull, shaping its arrangements, vocal staging and harmonies and teaching the parts to the featured singers.
